Baseball Superstition

Filed under: Sports — admin @ 2:36 pm

So it’s been a while since the beloved Chicago Cubs have won a World Series. The last time the team was playing for the championship and won it was 1908. Fast-forward to 2008 and the Cubs are in the post-season, only problem is, they need to win three games in a row to successfully make it to the next round. Though the Cubs could probably avoid being swept by the Dodgers, there seems little to no chance that they will make to the World Series. As all fans know, especially Cubs fans, there is always next year for another chance.

Brett Farve makes an amazing display of skill at the Jet versus Cardinals games this past Sunday. Farve threw and connected a whooping six touchdowns passes to give the Jets a commanding lead and win over the Cardinals (56-35). Jets’ players and fans were in for not expecting such a magnificent game, especially after losing the week earlier and Farve hurting his ankle. Farve is very astonished of his own performance, as he never achieved such success before.

Stick to the Basics

Though not a major deal to most onlookers, using a computer is a violation of the NCAA rules and regulations. It would give teams using a computer an unfair advantage over game plays through strategy via replays. But just as fast as the laptop computer was detected, it was removed, and the game went on.

After a disastrous season last year, the St. Louis Rams decide to hold their training camp for the upcoming season at the beautiful setting of Wisconsin. The players and coach are confident that the training camp has united the team and instilled confidence in them.  The Rams did lose the preseason opener against Tennessee but the coach is confident that the team can bounce back from it.
