How to write a sports review?

A well covered sports review enables the reader to know about a particular aspect of sports. To write a good sports review it is important that the writer knows the subject thoroughly. An effective review is one that is personal and airs the well formed and balanced opinion of the writer. While writing a sports review it is necessary that all the facts and figures relevant to the topic is at hand.

It is important to get the readers interested in the review. There maybe a lot of people who are not quite familiar with the many happenings in the sports world. A catchy title can help to attract the attention of this segment of the population. It is important that the writer manages to convince the reader about his/her own sincerity and passion about the game. What is important is that the personality of the writer should shine through in the review so that even if the reader does not subscribe to the views that are written, they would make sure to read the writer again. A passionate opinion is important.

All the facts and information in the review must be written in a clear and concise manner. It is also important that only relevant details be included and there should be no padding up.

Cardinals 2008 Television Schedule Announced

The St. Louis Cardinals have announced their  schedule for the 2008 season. FSN Midwest and KSDK NewsChannel 5 will  serve as television partners of the team. FSN Midwest will carry 130 regular season games.

Minnesota and March 26 vs. Baltimore. FSN Midwest will start its regular season games with the network’s one-hour pre and postgame Cardinals Live shows. The schedule of FSN Midwest telecasts in high definition has not yet been determined. KSDK NewsChannel 5 will show 20 regular season Cardinals games. Nineteen of those games will be Sunday afternoon telecasts.

Nine games are  scheduled to be carried as part of Major League Baseball’s national television package.  Two games against the Chicago Cubs at the end of September presently do not have a television outlet. And One of the games will not be televised because the April 12 game at San Francisco has a start time that conflicts with the FOX Saturday Baseball exclusivity window.

Former Bengals fullback Pete Johnson accused of passing bad check

 Pete Johnson has been accused of writing a bad cheque for US$13,300 to buy a pickup truck! Johnson played for the Bengals from 1977 to 1983. He was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Champaign County Common Pleas Court. Johnson didn’t have enough funds in his account when he wrote the check. A Champaign County grand jury indicted Johnson in December. Urbana is about 65 kilometres northwest of Columbus.Johnson, who was part of four Big Ten championship teams while at Ohio State in the mid-1970s, played for the San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins in 1984 and retired at the end of that season.

Wild place D Hill on IR

The Minnesota Wild placed  Sean Hill on injured reserve Monday. Hillis 38 and he  has played in 21 games for the Wild this season. He missed the first 19 contests of the season while serving a league-imposed suspension after testing positive for a banned steroid last spring.Hill was suspended on April 19 after becoming the first player to violate the NHL’s drug policy.Plus Hill  was given a 20-game ban, including the Islanders’ final playoff contest against the Buffalo Sabres.

New York Knicks (8-24) at Chicago Bulls (13-19)

The New York Knicks attempt to halt a seven-game losing streak when they visit the Chicago Bulls at the United Center. The Knicks play the finale of a three-game road trip. Yao Ming scored 30 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out six assists to lead the Houston Rockets over New York, 103-91.

The Minnesota Timberwolves vs Miami Heat

The two worst teams in the NBA meet on Tuesday night in Minneapolis (The Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat). With each trying to snap its longest losing streak of the season. Miami (8-26) has dropped seven in a row since defeating Utah on Dec. 22, losing by an average of 10.1 points. Minnesota (4-29) has lost its last eight games by an average of 15.2 points. Center Al Jefferson has been one of the team’s few bright spots. The Heat snapped a six-game losing streak at Minnesota with a win there last season.

The Sacramento Kings News

The undermanned Kings built a 14-point lead at the half and coasted along the rest of the game en route to a 107-97 road win over the Knicks on Wednesday. The kings’ next game will be held against Magic. The Kings will return home to battle the Orlando Magic on Tuesday, January 8, at 7 p.m.
